DOP Screenings at Kings Place Opening Festival
Newbury, UK - 1st October 2009: Distant Object Productions today announced the upcomming screening of Rock Music Rock Art at the Kings Place Opening Festival on 1-5 October 2008.
The Ruwenzori Sculpture Foundation/British Council Arts Project culminates at Kings Place with concerts, drumming workshops, talks, DOP films, photography by Steve Russell, club night and art installation.
'Rock Music Rock Art' is screened at an evening with the Guardian. Discussion chaired and introduced by Jon Snow (ITN News)
DOP edited 'concert images' of Lolui (Lolwe) island are projected while London Sinfonietta and Uganda Dance Academy perform their collaborative concert followed by Nigel Osborne's Rock Music Rock Art contemporary composition. Pangolin London opens with an exhibition by Peter Randall-Page and screens DOP Kings Place video - a Rock Music Rock Art project summary including the island Adventure, Peter Randall-Page's responses to the trip and performance clips from the Commonwealth Heads of Government meetings in Uganda. Also features Prince Charles trying out the rock gong drum pad.
