Distant Object Drum with Uganda's Vice President and UK Royal

UgandaVPKampala, Uganda - 20th November 2007: While presenting the Rock Music Rock Art project at the 2007 Commonwealth Heads of Government Meeting in Kampala, we were visited by both Uganda's Vice President and Prince Charles.

His Excellency the Vice President, Prof. Gilbert Balibaseka Bukenya and His Royal Highness Prince Charles were both keen to get to grips with drumming and playing the Rock Gong drum pad (programmed samples of the gongs as recorded on the island) as the joined the Distant Object Productions team along with members of the London Sinfonietta, the Uganda Dance Academy and the Ruwenzori Sculpture Foundation.

PrinceCharlesPlaysRockGongsDue to scheduling restrictions, the two visitors arrived at different times sadly missing an opportunity for a ground breaking jam session.

Both received a copy of the film for their DVD collections and we are awaiting testimonials from their PR people....
