Distant Object officially selected for VIDEOMED
19th October 2010: Distant Object Productions today announced that "Understanding High Blood Pressure" has been officially selected for the VIDEOMED International Health and Medical Film Festival.
Distant Object Productions are delighted to have been officially selected for VIDEOMED. VIDEOMED celebrates its 25th year in 2010, with the festival taking place in Badajoz, Spain in November. With affiliate festivals around the world, VIDEOMED is one of the longest established and widest ranging medical film festivals.
"Understanding High Blood Pressure" is a four part DVD consisting of a main documentary, a short drama delivering the key messages, additional patient stories and a doctors' cut explaining treatment guidelines for healthcare professionals and interested patients. Distant Object Production collaborated closely with leading researchers Professors Peter Sever and Neil Poulter and family physician Dr Henry White from Experts In Health to produce a trusted patient education resource from the world experts.
The first audience survey for the film revealed that 85% of patients who watched it made at least one change to an aspect of their lives with the aim of lowering their blood pressure. The DVD has received endorsements from the Blood Pressure Association, World Hypertension League, British Hypertension Society, British Primary Care Cardiovascular Society, and Diabetes UK.
